Steve started in financial services over 40 years ago, working for major financial services companies until starting his own company in 1982 which is now known as Cochrane Cooke Associates.
His ethos has always been to work for his clients, not the lenders or insurance companies; many of his clients have been with him since the 1980’s and he now looks after their children’s journey through the financial maze.
With the ever changing landscape of financial services it is more important to have experience in your corner looking after your interests. Steve welcomed Jane Burnside as a partner in the firm in 2016 to build on the successful reputation of Cochrane Cooke Associates
Married to Linda for over 37 years and with two grown up children and grandchildren, Steve knows the importance of financial security.
When not sourcing mortgages or protecting a family’s needs you will find Steve on the bowling green (Crown Green). An Ex-President of Yorkshire Crown Green Bowling (Harrogate’s First) he is now managing the Yorkshire Ladies County team; like the team at Cochrane Cooke Associates he aims to make them number one.

With over 15 years experience in the financial services industry as an adviser and underwriter, Jane joined Cochrane Cooke in 2012 as a mortgage and protection adviser and has since become a partner in the firm. Jane’s ability to effectively communicate with her clients to ensure they are fully informed and understand each stage of the process has led to many clients recommending their family and friends.
As a parent with a young family, Jane fully appreciates the great importance of financially protecting your family against life’s unexpected events, within a budget that is affordable and maintainable.
In her spare time Jane enjoys spending time with her family and friends and likes nothing more than a long walk in the hills (the Lakes when possible - time and weather permitting!).

Rebecca has worked in the financial services industry as an advisor for over 18 years and joined Cochrane Cooke in August 2018. Rebecca enjoys helping her clients and prides herself on the service she offers to them.
Rebecca has a young daughter and therefore fully understands the needs to protect your family on an affordable budget.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and tries to keep fit with regular visits to the gym.
